YouTube has finally launched its own iPhone app after Apple announced that they would be dropping it in the latest version of its iOS.

The app that was dropped was actually designed by Apple, not YouTube, and it only featured a limited amount of YouTube videos, reports Mashable.

With the official YouTube app, Apple owners can finally get the full YouTube experience on their iPhones and iPads, without having to go to m.youtube.com on their internet browser.

“The new iPhone app is available worldwide and unlocks tens of thousands of official music videos, as well as bringing lots of new features to improve finding and sharing awesome videos and channels,” writes Andrey Doronichev, head of YouTube mobile, in a blog post.

“It’s a new app built by YouTube engineers, to give our iPhone users the best mobile experience.”

The YouTube app even comes with new features—it has voice search and query autocomplete functions; users will be able to read comments, browse related videos and enable subtitles while watching videos; and it lets users post videos on Twitter, Facebook and Google + with a simple tap.

It is currently free for download on the iTunes Store for iPhones and iPads.
